Haven House was a prestigious 17th century brick and timber framed house whose foundations were uncovered during an archeological dig which took place before the construction of the third science block which is now on the site.

In the 1960s Haven House was used by the CCF and the Model Railway Club. Peter J King remembers it always smelling of damp.
