Vernon Howard was educated at Boston Grammar School.
The BGS Speech Day 1900 programme records that Howard achieved "4th Place in Honours at the London University Matriculation." He went on to teach mathematics at Peter Symonds School, Winchester.
His death, aged 74, was honoured in the 1937 issue of The Bostonian.
