Obituary
From the August 2000 issue of The Old Bostonian
Andrew Emery aged 29 died on 2 April when his motorbike skidded into a lamp-post when on his way home from holiday. The accident happened on the Meldreth to Whaddon road in Cambridgeshire. He was confirmed dead at the scene.
After BGS he attended Boston College and his first employment was with WHSmith in Boston in the music department. From there he went to work at Sam Goody Music in Strait Bargate before setting out on a career in telesales.
Andrew was a keen all-round sportsman. He played pool for Pilgrim Social Club, darts for the Coach and Horses and loved to play for his quiz team, the Choriton and the Wheelies in the music quiz at the Britannia.
He was a dedicated motorcycle fan and went to meetings both home and abroad as a spectator.
His work in telesales for Roger Burnett Promotions necessitated his living in Kirmington, Humberside (now North Lincolnshire) but he came home every weekend to watch Boston United and would often travel to Old Trafford to support Manchester Utd.
Before BGS Andrew was educated at St Nicholas Infant School and Hawthorn Tree Primary.
