Arthur Gilbert Pettitt of The Chase, Fishtoft, died at Southview, Skegness, after suffering a heart attack. He was 68.

Born in Boston, he lived in the town all his life and worked in the railway office until retiring 13 years ago. He did his National Service at Blackpool.

A keen golfer, he enjoyed walking and cycling along the sea bank, but his main love was his family.

He leaves his wife Janet, sons Paul and Simon, grandchildren Stephanie and Thomas and sister Pat.

The funeral took place at St Nicholas Church, Skirbeck, followed by burial in the churchyard. Father Paul Noble officiated
