Obituary
From the 1943 issue of The Bostonian
A. H. ("Bert") Greenfield was the second of four brothers who played a memorable part in the life of the School, particularly in sporting activities. He was a fine all-round athlete, showing exceptional prowess as a footballer. He was a member of the eleven from 1926 to 1929, a time when football was unusually strong in the School, and he is particularly remembered as centre-half in the fine side of 1928-1929. The remarkable success of that brilliant forward line was in no small measure due to Greenfield's hard work as centre-half. In his last year at School he was a most successful house captain of Parry's, infecting others with his keenness and having an unusual degree of authority. He was one of those who gave of their best to the School - "exempla qui dedere posteris." The Greenfield Cup, presented to the School by the four brothers, will be a fitting memorial.
