Asa, a retired housing officer, died in Pilgrim Hospital at the age of 81.
He was born at Swinton, Lancashire, and moved to Boston with his family when he was 11.
Before retiring in 1976 he was a housing officer for Boston Borough Council. During the Second World War he served in the Fleet Air Arm in Nairobi. He was a keen golfer and a member of Boston Golf Club. He leaves wife Agnes, two daughters and three grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother and a sister.
The funeral service at Boston Crematorium was conducted by the Rev Brian Grellier. Donations were to Lincs Air Ambulance.
