Richard Blackwell Leafe (Dick) died at his home in Norfolk Street, Boston on 12th December 2001.
Born in 1926 in Granville Street, he had lived in Boston all of his life. In 1951 he married Joan Sargeant and they have two sons, Richard and Peter, and two granddaughters Amy and Joanne.
Richard was educated at BGS and played football for the Old Boys. After leaving school he served a seven year apprenticeship in Master Building while working with the family firm, Dick became Verger and Parish Clerk of St Botolph's Church in 1974 where he served under Vicars Scott, Collins and Fluck until he retired in 1987. In 1988 he received the reward for Services to the Community from Boston Borough Council.
He was choirboy from the age of eight, becoming a Server, Sunday School Teacher and Reader. Dick received the Royal Maundy at Lincoln Cathedral in 2000 and he also served for many years on the St Christopher’s Church Committee, where he was again a Reader.
Dick was a very loving man and he lived his life to the full with his family and friends.
