Obituary
From The Bostonian, 1941 issue, written by George Ward Border
The grim toll of war was brought home to us with the news that Second Lieutenant Henry James Aish had been killed in action in the Middle East.
Aish was Classical Master at the School from 1935 to 1937 and, during his stay, he made a host of friends both amongst the staff and the boys. He was a great sportsman and did much to raise the standard of the School cricket. Both on the football field and on the hockey field he was a great asset to his side.
He was always cheerful and his popularity was unbounded. In 1938 he married the daughter of A. C. Rysdale, one of the School Governors, and to her the School sends its deepest sympathy.
In his death, as in his life, Aish has given all to the service of his fellows.
