Herbert Arthur Jessop died in March this year at his home in Pilleys Lane, Boston, at the age of 78. He was born in Boston and lived in the town all his life. He ran the well known china and glassware shop in Dolphin Lane under the family name.
Herbert attended BGS in the early 1930s. During the Second World War he joined the Royal Corps of Signals and served in India and Burma. When demobbed he returned to the family business.
He was a member of the Zion Methodist Church[1] and was steward/treasurer and circuit steward of the Boston Methodist Circuit[2]. He was also treasurer of the Samaritans.
Herbert leaves a wife, Jean, daughter Pamela and son Michael.
Son Michael went to school in Stamford and now runs the family business. Herbert's grandson, Michael's son, was a student at BGS, left 16 months ago and has joined his father in the business.
