Obituary
From the February 2000 issue of The Old Bostonian
Jamie aged 25 died as the result of a tragic accident early in October last.
He was in Amsterdam with a group of friends celebrating his brother's impending marriage. On Friday night they were on the way back to their hotel along the side of a canal. Jamie caught his foot in a mooring railing at the canal edge, fell, hitting his head against a barge, and plunged into the water. It would appear that he drowned whilst unconscious in the water. All attempts at resuscitation failed.
Jamie was born in Windsor, Berks where he went to school, including Windsor Grammar School until he was 15. It was then that he moved with his family to Swineshead and entered BGS in 1989 and left in 1992.
He studied at Derby University from 1992 to 1994. Between 1997 and 1999 he spent 18 months travelling around Australia and Asia. He worked in London where he lived with his partner Jen, a Londoner.
Jamie was a very good and keen rugby player. He had played for his university and also for Boston Rugby Club where he was a popular member.

Jamie Beswick - Coroner's Verdict
In the last newsletter Jamie's death in Amsterdam in October 1999 was reported - how he fell into a canal while out celebrating his half-brother's stag night.
At the inquest evidence was given that Jamie had been drinking heavily and had taken an ecstasy tablet during the party celebrations.
The Boston and Spalding Coroner, Maureen Taylor recorded a verdict of accidental death, saying there was "no evidence to confirm or refute the possibility that he had taken ecstasy."
