Martin Panton was educated at Boston Grammar School (1960-1968).
Head of School 1967-1968 together with Jack Upsall. He was head librarian at BGS and chairman of the Debating Society. He was also on the JCR Committee and the Geographical Society Committee. He was involved in swimming while at school. He achieved 6 'O' Levels and 2 'A' Levels, gaining a place at Bournemouth College of Technology to read Business Studies.
