The Neal Robinson Science Award is conferred annually in memory of Neal Robinson, the founder of Robinson's Chemists, who died in 1979. He was a founding member of the Boston Lions Club in 1974 and served as its President in 1976-77.

The prize is granted to students of Boston Grammar School, Boston High School and Boston College who have excelled in science, and who are progressing to further education. A dedicated awards ceremony takes place at the Boston Lions Club.

The awards are funded by the Neal Robinson Charitable Trust - a registered charity inaugurated and administered by the Boston Lions Club.

It was originally referred to as the 'Neal Robinson Memorial Prize'.

Neal Robinson Memorial Prize

In 1983 at least the Neal Robinson Memorial Prize seems to have been awarded to Tim Sylvester on the basis of having the fourth best set of A Level results. The student with the best A Level results received the Parry Gold Medal and those with the second and third best received the Parry Prize. It was certainly not awarded for excellence in science that year since Tim was not studying any science subjects at A Level.
