Charles Cyril Norroy Vass was educated at Boston Grammar School, winning the Parry Gold Medal in 1920.

In March 1995 The Times published the following notice of death:
VASS — Dr. (Charles. Cyril) Norroy, MB ChB, MSc, PhD, Finst Biol, died peacefully aged 93 on 13 March 199S. Husband of late June McLean, beloved father and grandfather. Retired Reader, Physiology St Thomas' Hospital. Pursuer of excellence and friend to all who knew him. Norroy was for long a member of the OBA right up to his death. He was always interested in news of the Association, the school and Boston. He looked forward to the newsletter and read each and every edition "from cover to cover". For many years he was cared for at the Uphill Grange Nursing Home[2], Weston-Super-Mare. He had a distinguished career and was regarded most highly by the medical profession.
