Pavilion
The pavilion was officially opened in May 1960 by the Chairman of Governors, William Lawson Alexander.
The building has primarily been associated with sport. It looks east onto the school field and forms the backdrop to many photographs of football and cricket teams. It currently contains:
- Two changing rooms
- A small set of shower units and lavatories
- A classroom currently used for teaching GCSE and A-Level PE
- A store cupboard for PE equipment
The classroom has been used for different purposes in the past. From the mid-1960s until the late 1970s, it was used for teaching music. During the 2000s, it housed the school tuck shop.
The pavilion underwent a renovation around 2011.
Earlier Pavilion
The 1943 AGM of the Old Bostonian Association was held in the "School Pavilion". Presumably this was a building on the then school playing field in Church Road, the site of the current Boston Nursery School.
Clock - installed 12 February 2024
A previous clock on the pavilion had long been non-functional. The Old Bostonian Association received a generous donation from Peter Steele in memory of his grandfather Ted "Sam" Wray and his uncle Joe Williams who had been caretakers at the school 1926-1952 and 1951-1976 respectively. The OBA decided to spend part of the donation on a new clock for the pavilion which was installed on 12 February 2024.
