Ronald Graves died in April in his home in Fishtoft Road at the age of 65. He was born at Benington and lived locally all his life.

He left BGS in 1951 and went to work in accounts at Preston Farmers and later at Marshall Brothers. In 1960 he joined J Lyons of London as a sales rep, covering the East Midlands. In 1963 he took a sales position with Barker and Dobson of Liverpool[1] with whom he became area manager and key account executive. He moved to Maynards of London in 1979. where he stayed until made redundant in 1986.

He and his wife Janet owned and ran a news agent shop until 1993, when they sold the business and Ronald took a position with the Prudential Insurance Company as a part-time customer account rep until retiring in 1998.

He was a lifelong supporter of Boston United. He played for Freiston Football Club from 1947 to 1967. He was captain of the team for many years.

Ronald leaves his wife Janet and son Nick. The funeral was at Boston Crematorium, conducted by the Reverend Terrie Stott.
