Thomas Maddison died in February at Woodlands Court Nursing Home at the age of 90.
Born in Boston, he lived in the town all his life. He attended BGS in the early 20s and in 1932 he joined Edward White Motors as a car salesman.
He stayed with them until 1939 when he left to serve in the Second World War with the Royal Army Service Corps attached as a driver to the Medical Corps (Light-field Ambulance Company). He took part in the D-Day landings.
After the war he returned to Boston and ran the first driving school in the area. He remained principal of the Boston School of Motoring from 1946 until he retired in 1973. He was a member of the OBA for many years.
A widower, Tom is survived by nieces Mrs A Farmer, Mrs J Morley and nephew Mr B Creamer.
The funeral service at Boston Crematorium was conducted by the Rev Douglas Allen.

Extract from an article "Local Men on War Service" in The Mercury and Guardian, Wednesday, 5 November, 1941.
Now serving with a Light-field Ambulance Company in this country, is Driver T. T. Maddison, only son of Mrs. and the late Mr. H. J. Maddison, of 46 Wide Bargate, Boston. Prior to joining the R.A.S.C. in July of last year, he was employed by Messrs. Edward White, motor-engineers, of Bargate End, Boston. Well known in Boston and district, he was a member of the Conservative Club for several years.
