Notable work(s) | Parry Gold Medal winner 1896 |
William C Burnett was educated at Boston Grammar School.
The BGS Speech Day 1900 programme records that Burnett was a "Scholar of Worcester College, Oxford. First Class in Honours in the First Public Examination in Mathematics, 1899" and "Goldsmith's University of Oxford Exhibition" also in 1899. This last reference is a strange one. We might immediately think of Goldsmiths, University of London, University of London" yet Goldsmiths' Technical and Recreative Institute, founded in 1891 was only acquired by the University of London in 1904 at which time it was was renamed Goldsmiths' College.
