Floreat Bostona – The school song

Floreat Bostona is the school song of Boston Grammar School. The Latin and English words were written by George Edwin Pattenden, who referred to it as “my school hymn”.

On the OBA wiki you will find both sets of words including two verses which are no longer sung, the music and an opportunity to listen to a midi version of the tune. Follow the link to the Reginald Bosanquet Swing Band to find details of a punk version of the song.

I am grateful to David Wright, former music teacher at the school, who supplied me with the sheet music.
