The school has war memorials for former students who died in the First World War and the Second World War. The can both be found in the school’s library.
The Second World War memorial was designed by art and craft teacher F J Grimble and takes the form of a lectern. It was unveiled on 8 May 1949 by Canon AM Cook, subdean of Lincoln Cathedral, who had been a part-time member of the school staff in 1921 when he was also Boston’s senior curate. When Dr William M Hunt, MPhil, PhD was researching his series of books about Boston’s war memorials (A Town Remembers Those Commemorated on the Boston War Memorial) he found that there were names missing from both memorials. Some of these names may since have been added.
You can find more information about the memorials including a complete list of names and further information about some of the fallen schoolfellows on the OBA Wiki.
