Dave, aged 18, a popular sixth former at BGS, was found hanged at his home in Matthew Flinders Way. His father, Richard, made the sad discovery!

He was studying for A-levels in maths, business studies and languages and was due to sit the exams this summer. He had no plans to go on to higher education.

Dave was a popular young man and always cheerful. He had a wide circle of friends.

At the inquest his sister Jenny, who had been with Dave at lunchtime and part of the afternoon on that tragic day, said that he was quite normal, his usual self and displayed no signs of depression or any problems.

Dave had left letters to his family but these provided no evidence of a motive.

Boston Coroner, Maureen Taylor said "No one will ever know why this happened. The post mortem did not reveal any other factors and therefore it remains a complete and tragic mystery. I record a verdict of suicide for reasons completely unknown."

David's funeral at [[Wikipedia:St Botolph's Church, Boston|St Botolph's]] was conducted by the Rev Jacob Knee with BGS teacher Mr [[Richard Anderson]]. A service of remembrance was held at the school.

David leaves his parents Richard and Jane and sisters Nicki and Jenny.

He was interred at Boston Cemetery.
