	The school's first Dining Hall, a [[Wikipedia:HORSA building\|HORSA building]], was built around 1949 during [[Leslie Thomas Waddams]]' headship, and was usually referred to as the 'Canteen'. It was located close to Rowley Road, north of the [[Mart Yard]]. For the first time meals could be cooked and served on ~~the spot~~.
