Neville Raymond Charlton was born 23rd February 1937, at 78 Freiston Road, Boston.

He attended Staniland and Tower Road primary schools, before attending [[Boston Grammar School]] from 1948 to 1953.

After leaving school he worked in his grandfather’s fishmongers, until called up for National Service. He was stationed at [[Wikipedia:Wythall|RAF Wythall]] outside Wolverhampton, and it was during this time that he developed his life long support for [[Wikipedia:Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.|Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club]].

In 1962 he married Rita Squires at the Centenary, Boston, and they went on to have two sons, [[Howard James Charlton|Howard]] and [[Nick Charlton|Nick]].

His hobbies included canary breeding, and in later life record collecting.

He passed away on the 3rd March 2024 after a battle with dementia. He is survived by his wife, his sons and and his five grandchildren.
