I don't really know what GGW was but I believe it was started in remembrance of a BGS boy that died in a motorbike accident. I seem to remember stories of gnomes being kidnapped from gardens all over Boston with notes left saying that the owners could collect them on a certain day from the [[Boston High School|High School]]. On that day many cars turned up to collect their gnomes which had been placed all over the grounds and buildings of the High School. According to Tim Stanlidand: "They were named, I believe, after Gnational Gnome Week... I don't really know what GGW was but I believe it was started in remembrance of a BGS boy that died in a motorbike accident.
