Barjona Dove (or Dowe or Done) was appointed as headmaster of Boston Grammar School on 23rd July 1613.

Dove was admitted sizar by Emmanuel College, Cambridge on 30th June 1609, matriculated in the same year, was made a scholar, and graduated with his B.A. in 1612–13, receiving his M.A. in 1616. He was ordained deacon and priest at Peterborough on 25th/26th September 1616. He had two sons, Samuel and Timothy, who both took their M.A.s at Emmanuel. Timothy was ordained in Ireland and became rector at Rippingale, Lincolnshire in 1660, on the presentation of Sir John Brownlow.
