Each summer all years groups at the school compete in (athletics) sports day events. In some years there has been a single event for the whole school and in others the school has been split into two or more sections with events held on separate days. The Morley Victor Ludorum is awarded for junior sport, and was funded by the local J.Morley Sports retailer. "Victor Ludorum" is Latin, meaning "Winner of the games".
The prize has also been referred to as "Morley's Junior Sports Award" and "Morley's (Junior) Victor Ludorum".
