George Edward Allen was educated at Boston Grammar School.

Obituary

From the February 1998 issue of The Old Bostonian

George died in January in Pilgrim Hospital, at the age of 79. He had farmed in the Brothertoft area all his life, apart from a time in the RAF during the war.

He was a churchwarden, a parish councillor and a member of the Rural District Council.

He was a founder member of Brothertoft Cricket Club, a member of Trent Bridge Cricket Club and also a member of Lincolnshire Horse Society.

He gave long service in Brothertoft as a special constable.

His funeral service in St Gilbert’s Church, Brothertoft was followed by burial in the churchyard. The Rev Dennis Clarke officiated.

He leaves his wife, Margaret and daughter, Monica.
