Ormiston House in 2021.

Ormiston House was the headmaster's residence, built in 1953 to replace Number One South End, which had previously served this purpose.

It appears that the house was named after a junior house at Campbell College, Belfast where headmaster William John Ricketts had been assistant master up to 1947. When headmaster Philip Johnston lived there he preferred to simply call it by its number, finding the name too grand for his taste.

The house was sold in 1980 when the headmaster at the time, Arthur Shrimpton, privately purchased his own property in Fishtoft and moved out.
