This photograph was sent to Tony Austin by Mrs Molly Ward. Her husband, Cecil H. Ward, can be seen on the left hand end of the back row in the picture.
Mrs Ward has kindly donated the original photograph to the Old Bostonian Association.
Back Row

Middle Row
Alf H Read (Secretary), Alan Peck, A Turner, Ted Cox (vice-captain), ? (Manager/ Groundsman)
Front Row
Bill Rowell, Alf H Seight, Arthur Staniland, Norman Peck, John Neal (Captain)
I was sorry that one of my sporting heroes of that year, Sid Harman, was not in the group; he went on to play for Boston United and for Portsmouth.
Arthur Staniland had a trial for West Ham United and played for Boston, as did E H Harvey (also not in the group). The two trophies in the picture were the Championship Cup for the Ruskington League (no team from the Boston Area had previously been champions) and the Fishtoft Cup (first year of that competition - won after being 2-0 down with 20 minutes to go against Fishtoft in the Final, 4 goals to 2). The OB XI had a very good year - the elected captain was Arthur McDowell and Ted Cox was vice-captain, Alf Read was Secretary. A H Speight scored a lot of goals.
