S E Macleod was educated at Boston Grammar School (?-1968).
At BGS he was a member of the JCR bar committee, a Lance sergeant in the CCF, and captain of the fencing team. He was also involved in Rugby Sevens. He achieved 8 'O' Levels and 3 'A' Levels, gaining a place at Leicester College of Art and Design.
