William Gannock has Boston Grammar School's Gannock (red) house named after him. He was Mayor of Boston in 1567 (when the school was built on its current site) and 1578.

According to Lincolnshire Pedigrees his will is dated 4 July 1583 and was proved 25 March 1591-2.
