Big Chief Fail was a band formed by former Vehicle Derek bassist, James Davies and his elder brother, Christian Davies in 1989. The band were unique locally for using a drum machine to supplement James on guitar and Christian on bass. They released a demo cassette 'Spikehead' recorded at Sable Rose Studios, Coventry and played several gigs both in Boston and further afield during their existence.
