The Sports Hall was opened on 11 December 1976 by Councillor Fred W Hoyles, as part of a two-day BGS Open Day. The architect was D Booth.

The building is located next to the main Assembly Hall.

Prehistory

Early in 1971 it was reported that there was a scheme to build a gymnasium for the joint use of the school and Boston College of Further Education. The governors objected because of anticipated administrative difficulties and also as the school had been promised a gymnasium of its own for some time.
