Nicholas Vernon Fitton was a teacher of English at Boston Grammar School (1985-2010 with a two or three year break).
Nick arrived at BGS in 1985 and retired in 2010. At some point during that time period he and his wife Hilary Fitton spent two or three years teaching at a school in Humberside (possibly 1991-1994).
Nick founded and ran the Pike Fishing Club and the Jazz Band.
A keen angler, in 1992 he authored a book entitled "In Search of Wild Trout: Flyfishing for Wild Trout in Rivers".
In 2013 he was the guest of honour at the OBA Annual Dinner, delivering a speech and the toast to the school.
In 2019 he produced a book of poetry, "Knick-Knack, Union Jack: And other poems for our troubled times" which was published by former BGS staff colleague Tim Atkinson's Dotterel Press.
