The Sixth Form Block was completed in February 1993 as a dedicated centre for the use of Sixth Form students. Construction work began in January 1992, and the contractor for the work was R G Carter of Grimsby. It was officially opened by BGS alumnus Dr Len Medlock, who had helped fund the building through the Medlock Charitable Trust.
The building is internally connected to the main school (intersecting close to the Junior Common Room), and its primary entrance opens onto the Mart Yard. It is situated roughly where the bike sheds and the swimming pool used to be.
Since opening, the Sixth Form Block has been periodically improved and extended. In the mid 2000s a ground floor conference room was added.
2018 extension
On 21 November 2018 a first floor extension was opened by David Medlock, the son of Len Medlock.
