The Cross Scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved a place at Durham University. Until 2022 it was called the 'Durham Castle Scholarship'.
It is funded by Geoffrey Cross (BGS 1944-51, University College, Durham 1951-54), and is awarded in memory of Eric Cross (BGS 1946-50).
Presented for the first time in 2013, each scholarship provides £2,500 per year towards university costs for the first three years of a degree course. Applicants may re-apply for one further year if they are continuing an undergraduate course.
