Christopher John Phillips was a teacher of Mathematics at Boston Grammar School.

While at Boston Grammar School he started and ran the Bridge Club and Philatelic Society, the latter being taken over by John Anthony Clutterbuck on his departure. Chris remains a keen philatelist as he has been since his youth.
