Canon Pattenden held the Incumbancy of the Chapel-of-Ease, as well as the Head Mastership of our Grammar School. When he resigned the latter position at the Grammar School in 1887, he accepted the living of Chertsey, Surrey, where he soon won the honour and affection of his parishoners.
