After BGS I studied Computer Science at Portsmouth Polytechnic (1984-88) - now the University of Portsmouth.

I am a member of the Old Bostonian Association, having been elected a Vice President. I have been web master for the Association since 1999 and was editor of its magazine, The Old Bostonian, from 2000 to 2011. I returned to the editorship in 2013 following the death of Paul Mould and (perhaps) edited my final magazine in 2016
