Obituary

By his brother Tony Drew

My brother, Herbert passed his 11-Plus at Kirton School and commenced Secondary Education at BGS in 1948. He passed his School Certificate in 1953 and immediately joined Brush at Loughborough as a trainee draughtsman. With the exception of National Service (served mainly in Gibraltar), he was employed by Brush for the whole of his working life, advancing to head one of their drawing offices. He also represented Brush at numerous trade delegations due to his fluent Spanish. He married a Spanish lady in about 1960 and had one daughter, who today teaches at Leicester University. He also played quite a good level of soccer, playing in goal for local teams in Loughborough.
