Natural History Society

A report written by K L Day appeared in the 1968 issue of the Bostonian magazine.
The Society has been small but enthusiastic and several members toured Frampton Marsh last summer to watch the eggs hatching in the colonies of gulls and terns. We are most grateful to Mr Gledhill for guiding us on this tour, which was both muddy and enjoyable and which culminated in the capture of an injured Godeneye duck.
The Society has increased in size since September and the new members have joined groups studying birds, fish and insects under the guidance of Mr Brierley and Mr Dilley. There is also a group which dissects anything it can get its hands on, a group starting an ecological survey of a local brickpit, and it is hoped to breed genetic flies in addition to the present stock of fish (tropical and cold), mice, locusts and gerbils.
