Tom Povey (BGS 1963-1970)

I came to BGS from St Mary's RC School (now defunct)

My extra-curricular activies were:

• Basketball club
• photographic society
• amateur dramatics

After BGS, I studied first Maths at Plymouth Polytechnic then transferred to Brunel University to do Computer Science. I did industrial training initially with British Gas in London and then twice with Burroughs Corporation in Feltham. After graduating, I worked for Burrough in Feltham and Cumbernauld, then Digital Equipment Corporation in Reading and then Nashua, New Hampshire. I left Digital at the end of 1993 and worked for a number of companies in a variety of roles until retiring from full-time work in 2018.

Now, I am tour manager and web master for both Ray Cooper and the John Jones Trio. I am secretary and web master for the Howard Foundation charity. And I'm catching up on holiday travel with my partner Julie.
