Michael Alcuin Thomas Walker was a teacher of Geography at Boston Grammar School from 1972.

Walker was educated at Shrewsbury School and at St John's College, Oxford where he gained a BA in 1960. His previous teaching roles were at Chester City Grammar School (1961), two schools in Barbados (1961-1964) and Bolton School (1965-1972).
