John Blackbourne was appointed headmaster of Boston Grammar School on 18 January 1609.
Blackbourne was admitted pensioner to Caius College, Cambridge on 7 February 1597-8 and matriculated the following year., BA 1599-1600, MA 1609. He was ordained deacon and priest in Lincoln in 1612. He had sons Peter (baptised 11 March 1609-10) and John (baptised 22 March 1611-12).
