John Newall was appointed headmaster of Boston Grammar School on 31 December 1597.
Newall matriculated at Christ's College, Cambridge, in 1588, graduating with a BA approximately three years later. He was Head Master at Boston Grammar School, 1597–1609 and then of Carre's Grammar School, Sleaford from 1609 to 1615.
