This prize is named in memory of Arthur Hill, who taught Classics at BGS for 42 years from 1887-1929.
His wife, Norah Hill, bequeathed £500 to the school, the interest on which was used to fund the Arthur Hill Memorial Prize.
First awarded in 1956, it is presented for senior (A-Level) and junior (GCSE, formerly O-Level) performance.
