The names of previous heads of school are recorded on an honours board displayed in the [[Assembly Hall]]. The role has previously been referred to as 'head prefect'.
The table below sets out the known heads of school for each academic year. The role has previously been referred to as 'First Boy', 'Head Prefect', 'Senior Prefect' and more commonly 'Head Boy'. Since 2016-17, BGS has also appointed a Head Girl.
