In 1983 the late Les Farrow, of Fydell Street, Boston, left an estate valued at £69,760. Among his bequests was £500 to Boston Grammar School to be used for the annual purchase of a cricket bat. This bat would be given on Speech Day to the best all-round sportsman in the school.
