A dedicated Art Prize is thought to have been first awarded at Speech Day in 1941.
In 2009 during the "Boston Grammar Schools Federation" this prize was awarded as "Art Prize (South End)" to Jessica Burdass. "The Art Prize (Spilsby Road)", the equivalent Boston High School prize, was awarded to Sara-Lee Simpson.
Until 2021 it was awarded for performance in A-Level Art, and latterly referred to as the "A-Level Art Prize". It was donated by the Foundation.
In 2023 it was renamed The Blackfriars Art Centre Prize for Art.
